Activists protest against NT intervention

On March 13, Protests against the NT intervention targeted Centrelink offices in 8 cities and towns around Australia, to draw attention to the racist policy of welfare quarantines for all people in “prescribed communities”.

The protest in Sydney heard from a number of speakers including John Sutton, National President of the CFMEU. The Canberra rally was addressed by Greens Senator Rachel Siewert and Kim Sattler, President of Unions ACT. Activists in Alice Springs collected over 70 complaint forms from people being quarantined.
